Establishing an educational city apiary in Sofia

The objective of this project is to work together with the team at Muzeiko – the America for Bulgaria Foundation’s Children’s Museum and the Municipality of Studentska region to create an educational apiary where visitors of all ages will be able to see the entire process of making honey.

The project will make land and tools available to children and instructors for the purpose of holding outdoor classes where visitors can interact with bees and take out beehive honey after learning about the role of bees in maintaining biodiversity and life. Thus, the program will contribute to increasing the public awareness about the importance of bees in the ecosystem and educate visitors about the numerous health benefits that honey brings for humans.
