This grant is to support Raina Kabaivanska’s master class to take place in Sofia this September.

Raina Kabaivanska is one of the greatest Bulgarian opera singers. She is currently a professor at the Orazio Vecchi Academy in Modena, Italy. For over 16 years now she has been coming to Bulgaria to teach young and prospective students at her master classes which are carried out through the Raina Kabaivanska Fund at the New Bulgarian University. The students are selected by Ms. Kabaivanska from the master class.

ABF has been supporting the project since 2009. In 2016, the master class will take place September 7 – 25 at the Sofia Opera House, with a closing gala on September 25. The deadline for students to apply with the program is September 4. This year part of ABF’s grant will be used for staging Turandot at the National Palace of Culture in December.
