The purpose of this grant is to establish an online platform for trade of larger volumes of fruits and vegetables to shorten the supply chain and provide opportunities for producers and traders to sell/buy produce directly, without interference of middlemen. The platform will provide: timely price information for the average prices of fruits and vegetables on the major wholesale markets in Bulgaria, which will serve producers and traders by orienting them where to sell/buy most profitably; opportunities for producers and buyers to place offers for what they sell or want to purchase - quantity, quality, region, packaging, etc.; information for important developments in the agricultural sector, upcoming agricultural events, conferences, etc. The realization of the project is intended to help small and medium size producers of fruits and vegetables sell their produce more profitably and achieve better economic results. The platform will also serve traders, smaller food stores, restaurant and hotel owners who will be able to buy what they need directly from the producers – faster, for a better price and fresh from the field.
