The project will support both the work of AGORA Platform on the development of municipal funds that build on local leadership and mobilize local resources and the Philanthropy Development at the Local Level Request for Proposals (RFP). The municipal funds strengthen the participation of citizens in local development processes and in solving local problems; contribute to more transparency in the management of public funds; and support local initiative and community building. The project activities are organized in six areas: advancing operating municipal funds, establishing new municipal funds, involving local businesses, building the capacity of local civic groups and the municipal administration, developing philanthropy at the local level, and promoting the positive impact of the municipal funds.
