Nancy Schiller: Six years after we completed the Little Heroes project, it is nothing short of astounding what a difference the transformed hospital conditions make for young patients’ healing and caregivers’ well-being. Staff morale and motivation have also improved immensely. The Pirogov experience affirmed that it is worth revisiting ABF’s role in this high-impact field.

Over nine months, fellows will have the opportunity to work at two Bulgarian media organizations, gaining professional experience and contacts and engaging in an exchange of ideas.

Members of the diplomatic corps in Bulgaria, the America for Bulgaria Foundation team, and civil society organizations and media came together on Thursday, February 2, to discuss the importance of civil society in a democracy.

ABF gifted Muzeiko to Bulgaria’s children by entrusting it to the care of Sofia Municipality. Muzeiko will now play a more direct role in Bulgarian education.

150,000 levs is available to fund youth educational projects and activities at the Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis in this joint initiative by the America for Bulgaria Foundation and the Friends of the Basilica – Plovdiv Foundation.

The candidates were shortlisted out of a record 410 applications. LEAP is designed and funded by ABF in partnership with leading US education provider Babson College.
