This grant is to support an exhibit of 130 works of Christo and Jean-Claude at the Sofia City Gallery, September 13 – November 22, 2015. The exhibit will note the 80-th anniversary of Christo this year. Though very popular around the world and loved by the Bulgarians, his art has never been exhibited in Bulgaria. Christo is a Bulgarian-born world artist who is famous for his innovative and ambitious large-scale projects such as The Gates in Central Park, The Umbrellas in Japan, Wrapping the Reichstag in Berlin.
