This grant will support the Association of Medical Students in Bulgaria (AMSB) in its efforts to match hospitals and student medics and provide training and regular testing to students entering COVID-19 wards. The project is part of #HealingTogerther, a joint initiative of the US Embassy in Bulgaria and the America for Bulgaria Foundation to support the Bulgarian healthcare system’s fight against the coronavirus. The Students against COVID-19 project includes the creation of a web platform that will facilitate the Association’s efforts to be more effective in addressing the needs of hospitals around the country and place its member student-medics where they are most urgently needed. The support includes funding for technology upgrade and organizational capacity-building, as well as for regular testing of the student-medics. The support would relieve the healthcare system and medical professionals on the front lines and help thousands of patients.
