Enhancing ICT Qualification in Bulgaria
European Software Institute - Bulgaria
USD 200,000
The main goal of the project is to enhance Bulgaria’s competitiveness and stimulate the creation of jobs in IT and related sectors through development and implementation of modern master-level training courses on software engineering and IT services management. The cluster of courses will be developed and adapted in partnership with the Software Engineering Institute of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in the U.S. – one of the top leaders of computer science and engineering in the world. During the initial pilot phase 12 courses provided by CMU will be tailored and deployed in 4 partner universities - Technical University in Sofia, Sofia University, New Bulgarian University, and the American University in Bulgaria. A train-the-trainer component will further ensure self-sufficiency and evolution of the program, leading on the one hand to a high-level, internationally recognized and CMU-accredited Master’s program, and on a ‘massive’ impact on the content and quality of ICT education – on the other. The initiative is co-funded by the American Embassy in Bulgaria with another USD 200,000.
We are performing technical maintenance on our website and the project database will not be accessible until 4 pm today.
