The project for modernizing foreign language and bilingual education at the Spanish Language School in Sofia will establish a contemporary center for language education and will modernize the science education by refurbishing the laboratories in physics and chemistry. The language center will have five classrooms, each refurbished and equipped with interactive multimedia with an option for direct Internet access during the classes. In addition to the multimedia, the chemistry laboratory will be equipped with settings necessary for demonstrations and experimental work, including a virtual laboratory. The upgraded laboratory in physics will be equipped with a MS Multi-Point Server with 10 working stations that will allow the students to access the Phet Interactive Simulations system for interactive science education developed by the Colorado University in the U.S. The reorganized hallways will create spaces for social interaction and individual work of students. The project will change the style of teaching at the school and will offer opportunities for the introduction of new methods of learning.
