For the four years of their existence, the Music of America concert series have become an important part of Sofia’s cultural life, with sold-out tickets and standing ovations. In the upcoming season, the program will include five concerts, traditionally featuring American and Bulgarian composers, film music and musicals. Among the soloists this year are Elizabeth Pitcairn with her Stradivarius – Red Mendelssohn 1720 violin, Svetlin Rusev, George Cherkin and others. It is important to note, that all the proceeds from the box office for the Music of America are used to support the Classic FM Symphony Orchestra – one of the two private orchestras in Bulgaria.
