International Percussion Festival and Purchase of New Instruments

This is an application by the Board of Trustees of the Panayot Pipkov Music School in Pleven for ABF to support the third edition of the International Percussion Festival and to purchase a set of new percussion instruments. The request fits ABF’s priority to support art education. Тhe program of the festival includes a large number of American artists: Michael Burritt (American soloist, currently a professor of percussion and head of the department at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York), David Friedman (American jazz percussionist), Patrick Zimmerli (American composer, producer and saxophonist who will lead a master class), Svet Stoyanov (Bulgarian, Assistant professor and program director of the Percussion Studies Department at the University of Miami). The rest of the budget will be used to purchase four new instruments: marimba, vibraphone, glockenspiel and cymbals.
