Time Heroes

Created in 2011, TimeHeroes’ mission is to develop the culture of voluntarism in Bulgaria. The organization’s most visible project is TimeHeroes.org – the largest volunteering platform in the country created with the financial support of the America for Bulgaria Foundation (ABF). Since 2012, the platform has connected more than 1,700 initiatives in need of support with over 52,000 volunteers willing to donate their time and skills. Additional ABF support helped TimeHeroes create Student Volunteer Clubs in order to engage young people from an earlier age; a Phone of the Volunteer – to involve retired people in volunteering; the HEROES – annual volunteer awards to promote remarkable examples in volunteering; and the BOOST program, supporting nonprofits to develop effective communications strategies.
