International Cyber Investigation Training Academy Established with the Support of America for Bulgaria Foundation

‘Bulgaria has the potential to become a regional center for countering cybercrime and for cyber investigation training’, said Yavor Kolev, head of ‘Cyber Crime’ Department with the Ministry of Interior at the launch of the newly established International Cyber Investigation Training Academy.

Cyber crime is a fast growing threat to businesses, state institutions and individual citizens alike. That is why the America for Bulgaria Foundation supports the initiative of a group of highly experienced and dedicated professionals that joined forces to share experience and train a larger number of colleagues how to cope with the new challenges of countering computer crime.

The Academy’s program and staff were officially presented before high-level magistrates and law enforcement officers on May 31. Among the guests of the event were also the Minister of Interior, Tsvetan Tsvetanov and the U.S. Ambassador, James Warlick.

‘The establishment of the Academy is a good investment in our future’, pointed out Minister Tzvetanov, while Ambassador Warlick said that with the Academy our country will rank among the best in the investigation of cyber crime. Both Minister Tsvetanov and Ambassador Warlick highly praised the support of ABF for the undertaking.
