Who’s That Flying Over Sofia In A Hot-Air Balloon?

Teachers provide students with new ways of looking at things they see everyday. But in the case of a classroom of students from Ivan Vazov language school, the students were the ones giving their teacher a new way of looking at the world. All of this because of the Days of Inclusive Education festival on June 16.

Who got to fly in a hot-air balloon over Sofia? Who is the winning teacher? The drumroll, please! The “Teacher Who Loves All of Her Students” is Galina Angelova. Classroom 11B from Smolyan’s Ivan Vazov foreign language high school was the winning class in the Center for Inclusive Education’s competition.

The Center announced the winners of the “Incorporating Practices in the Classroom” and “Practices to Include the Wider Community in School Life” competitions, which were part of the national campaign “Days of Inclusion 2017” on June 16. The winning class in the “Teacher Who Loves All of His Students” competition got the chance to look at things from a new perspective because the winning prize was a ride in a hot-air balloon. The Days of Inclusion were held for the second consecutive year under the One School for All Program with the support of America for Bulgaria Foundation to promote the principles and philosophy of inclusive education. This year’s focus is the inclusive teacher. Take a look at what Galina Angelova, the teacher who loves all her pupils, had to say about her surprise during her appearance on Nova Televizia’s Hello Bulgaria morning show HERE.
