The program is open to journalists and photojournalists from newspapers, newsmagazines, wire services, radio, television and online news organizations.
Applicants must be available to travel for nine weeks between August and October 2012, be Bulgarian citizens and have permanent residency in Bulgaria.
The winner of the America for Bulgaria/World Press Institute Media Fellowship will be among a group of ten World Press Institute Fellows from around the world.
The fellowship program provides immersion into the governance, politics, business, media, journalistic ethics and culture of the United States through a demanding schedule of study, travel and interviews.
The program is based at the World Press Institute in Minneapolis-St Paul, Minnesota with trips to Washington DC, New York and other major US cities.
The award covers travel, accommodation and per diem for meals.
