New RFP for Educational Programs at the Bishop’s Basilica in Plovdiv

150,000 levs is available to fund youth educational projects and activities at the Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis in this joint initiative by the America for Bulgaria Foundation and the Friends of the Basilica – Plovdiv Foundation.

The America for Bulgaria Foundation and the Friends of the Basilica – Plovdiv Foundation, in cooperation with the Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute, are announcing a request for proposals (RFP) for the development of educational programs and activities at the Bishop’s Basilica of Philippopolis in Plovdiv. The aim of the RFP is to attract younger visitors to the Basilica and acquaint them with Plovdiv’s and Bulgaria’s rich cultural heritage through workshops, games, and other educational activities.

The partner organizations will fund projects related to developing workshops, games, and activities in the fields of history, natural sciences, applied arts, literature, design, and architecture that unfold over a 12-month period.

Candidates must be legal entities registered in Bulgaria, including public and private organizations and companies offering educational services and activities.

The deadline for applications is February 28, 2023.

The Friends of the Basilica – Plovdiv Foundation has united active Plovdiv citizens and businesses since 2018. The mission of the foundation is to turn the Bishop’s Basilica into a lively cultural center attracting children and adults, locals and visitors from Bulgaria and the world. The Friends first initiative is the Adopt a Bird campaign. Anyone can choose between 100 mosaics of birds and adopt one through donating funds. To date, this campaign has raised 150,000 levs from 34 benefactors, supplying the funding that will support youth programming at the Basilica.
