The outpouring of support and activity that we have seen over the past three weeks has been nothing short of amazing. I am inspired by what your fellow citizens have managed to do in such a short amount of time, and I want to single out the NGO community and Bulgaria’s teachers for special praise.
In recognition of the inspiring Bulgarian volunteers assisting their fellow Bulgarians during the COVID-19 crisis, US Embassy Sofia and the America for Bulgaria Foundation will award financial gifts to Bulgarian citizens, nonprofit initiatives, and small/medium-size businesses providing services to support their communities.
Doctors and medical staff are the heroes on the frontlines of this effort. We applaud their professionalism, commitment, and courage in the fight against the coronavirus. Thank you!

Meet some of the Americans advancing their academic or professional goals right here and, by doing so, promoting Bulgaria’s cultural and culinary heritage around the world.
Professional learning for educators has been a cornerstone of educational programs developed by the America for Bulgaria Foundation. The focus on professional learning recognizes that challenges in the classroom are dynamic, and in order to prepare students for the jobs of the future, education professionals need to examine and improve their practice continually.
